Walt’s career in construction and development spans 30 years, dating back to his attendance at Valdosta State University where he worked in construction to learn the business. After college he was a Senior Project Manager for JCI Construction in Moultrie, Georgia. The $150 million family-owned company gave him the hands-on experience of the construction process, where he was able to demonstrate his ability to successfully manage and complete a progression of large projects.
With the strong desire to build his own company, he started his operation in 1997 with one employee and a borrowed truck and began working on local construction opportunities. This led to additional projects in education, government, and the Corp of Engineers. By 2007 his company had grown to over 150 employees and matured into a solid operator.
Throughout his career, Walt has successfully completed over 300 construction and development projects, delivering a quality product on time and on budget. True North places a high value on good work and continues to maintain strong relationships with the same bank and bonding agent (The Hartford) since the inception of his company.

Senior Vice President, Construction
Carl currently serves as True North’s Senior Vice President of Construction with over 38 years of multi-family housing construction industry experience. During his career Carl successfully established a Multi-Family Housing construction business for one of the nation’s largest General Contractors and was ranked in the Top 5 multi-family contractors in US. Carl’s team has successfully completed over 25,000 multi-family units across the US. Carl holds a Civil Engineering Technology degree from Southern Polytechnic State University.
He continues to serve on the Construction Management Department’s Industry Advisory Board and is a member of the Board of Trustees on the Kennesaw State University Foundation.
Director of Finance
Carol currently serves as True North’s Director of Finance. She is responsible for managing financial, human resource, and administrative functions of the company. Carol has over 25 years of accounting experience and has worked in General Ledger Accounting as well as taken on Controller positions previously in her career. She has commercial and residential real-estate backgrounds and worked in the industry for over fifteen years. She has been involved in the financial side of construction for over a decade and brings a wealth of knowledge to True North in accommodating financial success in development and construction.
Carol has sixteen years in Human Resource experience ranging from various employment roles at different companies which include recruiting to benefits administration. In her accounting and consulting roles, she has implemented more than seven construction, real-estate, and accounting software packages.
She has an MBA concentrated in Information Technology from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia. She also carries a Bachelor of Science Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. She has previous work experience with companies including HQ Global Workplace in Atlanta, Georgia, PricewaterhouseCoopers in Atlanta, Georgia, and Kennesaw State University Foundation Housing Management in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Vice President, Operations & Asset Management
Joseph Fawole is the Vice President of Operations and Asset Management at True North Companies. He is responsible for managing the asset management functions, sales and marketing, hospitality departments, and assists overall operations of the company and its developments.
He is a highly accomplished hospitality executive. Through his twenty years of Service with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, each position has been progressive with assignments at some of Hyatt’s most Iconic properties in the United States. His career spans lead roles as general manager as well as leading rooms division operations.
With the background from Westminster College London for information technology/computer science and Federal Polytechnic Offa in Nigeria for a higher national diploma in Accounting/Business Administration, Joseph has 20+ years of diverse Hospitality experience. Ranging from Food and Beverage, Rooms Operations, Revenue Management, Sales, Renovation and Project Management, Union Environments and Strategic Planning. Highly engaged in community serving on multiple industry and nonprofit boards.
Vice President, Construction
Mickhal is a graduate of the University of West Georgia and currently serves as True North’s Vice President of Construction with over 21 years of multi-family housing construction experience. Mickhal’s experience allows him to bring both a unique and collaborative perspective to the business having worked in the trades with his father prior to entering the multifamily business as an assistant superintendent for a multifamily owner / developer. Mickhal then rose to General Superintendent at Lend Lease before transitioning into multiple project management positions over the next several years. As Mickhal’s career grew he continued to lead successful teams ultimately becoming a Project Executive at Batson-Cook Company.
In Mickhal’s current capacity as Vice President he oversees all planning, directing, coordinating, scheduling, supervisory personnel, and budgeting activities associated with the successful execution of multi-family projects.
